Day 1-2: Christchurch to Franz Josef Glacier (380km, ~5hrs 30min)

Kick off your adventure by heading west through the stunning Arthur’s Pass, a route filled with dramatic mountain scenery, waterfalls, and great hiking spots like Devil’s Punchbowl Falls. Stop in Hokitika to check out the famous Hokitika Gorge and its vibrant blue waters before continuing down the coast to Franz Josef.

Say goodbye to Queenstown and head north through the breathtaking Lindis Pass before stopping at Lake Pukaki for incredible views of Aoraki/Mt. Cook. Continue to Lake Takapō, home to the famous Church of the Good Shepherd and some of the most spectacular night skies on Earth.
